Known issues

Last reviewed 2026-09-19. Every problem we know is open is listed with its date, what you see and what to do meanwhile. If yours is not here, the panel reports failures on its own; you need not file anything.

The panel's Support section is empty on 1.5.1

The Support section of the panel, which is meant to list every problem Prism detected with its fix, shows nothing, and Copy diagnostic has nothing to copy. Underneath, the panel's log view fails with ReferenceError: insertLogInOrder is not defined. This is the most reported problem on 1.5.1 and it is in the panel's log view, not in your project.

When you write to us, send the panel version from the footer ("After Effects MCP v…") and the error text as your AI client showed it; that replaces the diagnostic. Your AI client can still ask Prism for a diagnosis, because the prism_support diagnose action runs on the server and does not read the panel's log.

The download in your receipt email installs 1.5.0

The link in a purchase receipt still serves panel 1.5.0 while the servers run 1.5.1. After installing from it, the panel shows "Please update to v1.5.1" and the footer reads "Update to v1.5.1". A 1.5.0 panel also answers a video generation with "Unknown panel-task op: generate-video", because that operation arrived in 1.5.1.

Download the panel from your dashboard instead. Quit After Effects fully (Cmd+Q on Mac, close the application on Windows), install, and reopen. See install errors.

Repeated sign-in prompts

The panel asks you to sign in again although you signed in recently. One customer signed in nine times in three hours. We have not found the cause, so there is no fix to give yet.

Sign in with the same account each time; it is quick, and nothing in your project is affected. If it happens more than once a day, email us with the panel version and roughly when it happened. Sign-in codes and their fixes are on sign-in errors.

Discover with a category filter finds nothing

When your AI client runs discover with a category filter such as svg, it gets zero tools back and then tells you those tools do not exist. They do; the filter compares a different form of the category name.

Ask your AI client to run discover without the category filter and search by words instead. See tool errors.

SVG saturate filters import as Hue

A logo imports with magenta or green where the source is neutral, and the import reports success. A saturate colour-matrix filter in the SVG is written to the Hue property, and mesh gradients are dropped.

Export a copy of the SVG without filters and mesh gradients, and import that. See importing design.

Snapshots can change your active composition

Rendering a snapshot can leave a temporary render composition active, or leave the wrong comp selected afterwards.

After asking for snapshots, bring your intended comp forward before the next request. If a later request seems to act on the wrong comp, this is usually why.

Occasionally a snapshot returns a stale frame, the image from before your last edit. Ask for the snapshot again, or make any small change to force a fresh render.

Long AI generations can come back empty

Transparent image generation and music generation can take several minutes. The server no longer cuts them off itself, but on some connections the stream drops before the result arrives.

The generation does not stop, and it usually completes. Do not re-run it: that is a second generation and a second charge. Ask your AI to check for recent results instead; completed work is reported there. Every Prism AI message is on Prism AI errors.

Generated images are placed from a temporary folder

An image Prism generates is linked from where it was saved. Current builds write to a Prism folder inside your Documents; older builds used the system temporary folder, which macOS clears and protects, so the footage goes offline and the project shows it as missing.

After generating images you want to keep, collect the files into your project folder and relink them there before closing the project.

Take care when relinking generated stills: choosing the wrong dialog option in After Effects can interpret a single image as a sequence and damage other footage in the project. See missing footage.

AI-generated video may render black

Some H.264 files produced by AI video generators decode incorrectly in After Effects: the layer renders black or empty with no error anywhere, often after a cache purge.

If a generated video appears black, convert it to ProRes or another editing codec before importing.

Windows: the script ran, the result was lost

The message reads "After Effects ran Prism's script, but the result did not come back to the panel on this machine. Do not reinstall, the installation is fine. Restart After Effects and retry. If it repeats, send the code host-result-lost to support@oneprism.io." After Effects did the work; the result was lost on its way back to the panel.

Common questions

For anything not listed, email support@oneprism.io with the panel version (footer, "After Effects MCP v…") and the Copy diagnostic from the panel's Support section. On panel 1.5.1 the Support section may be empty; the version plus the error text is enough.
