Yes. Prism connects to the AI you already pay for, including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Kimi, Qwen and any other client that speaks MCP. Free tiers work too. You paste one address into your client and sign in through your browser, and your project context stays in the assistant you already use rather than starting over in a second window.

Do I need to buy another AI subscription or an API key?

No, and no. You keep the plan you already pay for, and Prism issues no API keys on any plan. That is why Pro is a flat $6 rather than a share of your model spend: Prism sells the connection and the After Effects craft, not access to a model.

Does my project data upload?

What happens to my audio?

Can my studio share one account?

Your plan belongs to you rather than to a machine, so sign in on a studio desktop and a laptop and both work, on macOS or Windows. There are no device slots to free. See signing in.

What if I cancel, does the panel stop?

When you cancel, your subscription returns to the Free plan at the end of the period. The panel keeps working with Free plan limits, and you stay signed in. You can resume a paid plan anytime from your dashboard.

What does Prism cost?

The Free plan is $0 and needs no card: every tool, with a monthly cap on how much you run. Pro is $6 a month, or $60 a year, and lifts the monthly MCP action cap from 200 to unlimited. What is the Prism AI balance, and is it the same as my AI subscription?

No, and they are different things. Your AI client is the reasoning AI you already pay for, and Prism never bills you for it. Prism AI is the narrow set of media features we generate for you (subtitles, beat markers, images, sound effects and music), and those cost real money to produce, so they are paid from a prepaid balance held in dollars. Prism AI is a Pro feature: a Free account gets 200 MCP actions and the full toolset, and the generative services begin at Pro. The balance itself is load-to-use rather than part of the plan: you load it from $5 whenever you want, what you load is what you have, and it never expires. There is no second unit and nothing to convert.

How much do the generative tools cost?

Pay as you go. Transcription is charged per minute of audio, beat detection per analysis, sound effects per generation, music per minute, and images per image at whatever the chosen model costs. Every generation is charged per result, so you pay for what you make and nothing else. The current rate for each tool is in your dashboard. Can I undo what the AI does?

Yes. Every action lands as one step in After Effects history, so a single undo reverts it. Before anything that removes work, ask for a checkpoint and it saves a timestamped copy of your project first.

Does Prism train on my work?
