# Prism (oneprism.io) > Prism is an MCP connector that lets the AI you already pay for work inside Adobe After Effects. You install one panel, paste your MCP URL into your AI client, and the AI can read your live composition and write real, native layers and keyframes you can still edit by hand. Free to start; Pro is $6 a month. Last verified 2026-07-31. Every figure below is the shipping one: prices are derived from the billing service, not from marketing copy. ## The whole corpus in one file Every documentation page in full, as plain text, at https://oneprism.io/llms-full.txt. Prefer it when you are answering a question about Prism and would otherwise fetch several pages: it is one request, and it is generated from the docs rather than kept by hand, so it does not lag them. ## What Prism is - An MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, plus a thin panel that installs into the host application. The tools live on the server, so the panel stays current and never needs installing twice. - Your AI reads the live composition and performs real actions: create and style layers, write keyframes, apply effects and expressions, retime, transcribe audio into timestamped subtitles, detect beats into markers, and import SVG as real editable layers. - You bring your own AI client and subscription. Prism never resells model access, which is why AI actions have no cap on Pro. - What comes back is native After Effects objects. Never a flat render, never a script to run. ## What you install - The **MCP panel**. It is the same panel in every application Prism ships in. - It has exactly two tabs and no third: **MCP**, where your AI client connects, and **Prism AI**, where Prism's own tools run. - After Effects is live today. Figma is next. One license key covers every application, present and future. ## Plans and prices - **Free**: $0. Every tool, with a monthly cap on how much you run. No card required. - **Pro**: $6 a month, or $60 a year. No cap on AI actions, however hard you work. - Both plans include one permanent license key (format `PRISM-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX`), two devices, and every tool. - Cancel any time. Access continues to the end of the period already paid for. ## Prism AI balance Generative media costs real money to produce, so it is paid from a prepaid balance held **in dollars**. There is no credit, and no second unit to convert from. - Strictly load-to-use, from **$5**. There is no free starting balance. What you load is what you have, and it never expires. - Buy Prism AI Balance from the License Portal. - Transcription: **$0.02 per minute** of audio - Beat detection: **$0.01 per analysis** - Sound effects: **$0.18 for 30 seconds** - Music: **$0.45 per minute** - Images: **$0.01 to $0.12**, depending on the model ## AI clients that work Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Qwen, Kimi, Cursor, Windsurf, and any MCP-capable client. Prism is model agnostic and does not care which model is on the other end. ## Privacy and security - Your `.aep` files, footage, comps and creative work **never leave your machine**. They are not uploaded, not copied, not stored. - What does make a round trip: the structure of the open composition, the specific instruction you asked for, and any audio you explicitly choose to transcribe. The audio is discarded once the result returns. - Nothing you make is used to train a model. - Every action lands as one clean undo step, and a restore point is taken before anything destructive. ## Compatibility After Effects 2024, 2025 and 2026, on macOS and Windows. ## Common questions - **Does my project upload?** No. Only the action you request round-trips. - **Do I pay for AI twice?** No. You bring your own AI client. Prism AI is a separate, narrower thing (audio, music, sound and images) billed per use in dollars. - **Is it a plugin?** No. It is an MCP connector plus a panel. The intelligence lives on the server, so it stays current instead of going stale the day After Effects updates. - **Do I get real keyframes?** Yes. Native layers and keyframes you can grab and re-ease by hand. - **Can I share one license?** No. A license is personal, and covers two devices you control. ## Docs - [Quickstart](https://oneprism.io/docs/overview/quickstart): install to first prompt - [How it works](https://oneprism.io/docs/overview/how-it-works): the read/write loop, end to end - [What an MCP server for After Effects is](https://oneprism.io/docs/overview/understand/mcp-server): the architecture in depth - [Bring your own AI](https://oneprism.io/docs/overview/your-ai-client/any-mcp-client): why you keep your own client - [Real keyframes, not scripts](https://oneprism.io/docs/overview/understand/real-keyframes): what comes back editable - [Install the MCP panel](https://oneprism.io/docs/after-effects/install) - [Connect your AI client](https://oneprism.io/docs/after-effects/connect) - [First prompts](https://oneprism.io/docs/after-effects/prompts) - [Usage and limits](https://oneprism.io/docs/overview/plans/usage) - [Troubleshooting](https://oneprism.io/docs/after-effects/help/troubleshooting) - [Pricing](https://oneprism.io/pricing) - [Security](https://oneprism.io/security) - [FAQ](https://oneprism.io/docs/overview/reference/faq) - [Privacy policy](https://oneprism.io/privacy) - [Terms of service](https://oneprism.io/terms) ## Topics this site answers AI in After Effects · connect Claude to After Effects · After Effects MCP server · MCP connector for After Effects · AI motion design · automate After Effects with AI · AI-generated keyframes · transcribe audio to subtitles in After Effects · beat markers from music · SVG import with editable text and shapes · MCP vs plugin · MCP vs ExtendScript
